Opportunity 1st presents High-5 Impact, a 5-Saturday in-person or Virtual workshop series designed to empower youth and young adults through mentorship, skill-building, and personal development. This initiative will provide hands-on learning experiences that equip young people with the tools and strategies needed to achieve independence and success.
Target Audience
- Youth & young adults (ages 13-24), particularly those in underserved communities
- Participants in Opportunity 1st programs (Unity 1, POP, OTT, RUN, RUN 2.0)
- High school students, out-of-school youth, recent graduates, and young adults in transition
- Cohort breakdown: Ages (13-15), (16-17), (18-20) (21-24)
High-5 Impact represents the five key areas of youth empowerment:
- 1. Personal Growth – Building self-confidence, leadership, and emotional intelligence.
- 2. Career & Financial Readiness – Exploring careers, resume-building, and financial literacy.
- 3. Wellness & Resilience – Prioritizing mental health, stress management, and self-care.
- 4. Community Engagement – Encouraging volunteerism, networking, and social impact.
- 5. Future Planning – Developing action plans, goal-setting, and decision-making skills.
During any given year where 5 Saturdays exist, High-5 Impact will take place over those five consecutive Saturdays, engaging youth and young adults in a dynamic, interactive experience that fosters confidence, self-sufficiency, and resilience.
Each session will include:
- Guest Speakers & Mentors – Professionals from various industries
- Hands-on Workshops – Interactive learning activities
- Skill-Building Exercises – Practical applications of knowledge
- Panel or Group Discussions – Real-world insights from industry leaders
- Networking & Community Engagement – Building connections for success
